Full Description
Ditched linear features in a field to the east of Petersham Lane are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are narrow and rectilinear in form. They are situated within two former historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose irregular and curvilinear boundaries indicate a probable medieval origin (2). These efatures sub-divide those former enclosures and are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval to perhaps early 20th century origin.
The site is redeveloped as housing and industrial presmises on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
