Full Description
A small post medieval extractive pit and access trackway on White Sheet Hill are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature is narrow and elongated in form and 67.7m long by up to 26.8m wide. An access trackway leads into the pit from the northeast; the track links with a more substantial un-metalled road to the east. The feature is situated just to the northwest of a large gravel pit (MDO27510) recorded on the OS 1st Edition map.
The site is under tree cover on current Google Earth imagery. The feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
