Full Description

A walled garden and associated structures are visible to the east of Uddens House in 1940s aerial photographs (1 and 2).

The features comprise a trapezoidal walled enclosure between 71m and 118m wide and 71m deep. Within the enclosure are a series of interlinking rectilinear pathways and a rectangular structure, presumably a shed or glasshouse. To the north of the walled garden are additional sections of walling and a further retangular structure. The gardens are surrounded by woodland in 1946 (1 and 2).

The gardens were largely demolished by 1962 (3). The external walls survive and are visible on current Google Earth imagery. The interior is grassed over.

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
