Full Description
An area of narrow ridged cultivation marks to the west of Bedborough Plantation is visible on aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise narrow parallel ridges set 3m apart with 1m wide ditches in between. The features do not correspond with any defined enclosure and appear to be substantially overgrown by scrub and developing rough ground by 1946 (1).
The features are considered likely to be those of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, possibly formed by late 19th century steam ploughing.
The site is a lake on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
