Full Description
A ditched linear feature to the northeast of Long Lane Farm is visible on aerial photographs (1).
The feature is narrow and rectilinear in form and it sub-divides an irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose slightly curvilinear boundaries are potentially medieval in origin (2).
The feature is considered to be a historic field boundary of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery and the feature remains visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
