A post medieval extractive pit to the northeast of Stanbridge is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1 and 2).

The feature comprises a shallow sub-oval depression 55m long by 40m wide . It is one of a series of extractive pits (MDOs 40873 to 40877) spread loosely east to west within fields to the northeast of Stanbridge (1).

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
