Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit to the northeast of Stanbridge is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1 and 2).
The feature comprises a shallow sub-oval depression 38.8m long by 25.7m wide. It is one of a series of extractive pits (MDO40873 to 40877) spread loosely east to west within fields to the northeast of Stanbridge; this being the north easternmost of these (1).
The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
