Full Description

A series of irregular and poorly defined ditched features are visible as cropmarks on 1992 aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise an irregular linear ditched feature and a number of adjacent irregular sub-circular features. The aerial photograph of 1992 suggests these may occupy a small rise of ground, possibly a gravel island, and may be more extensive in their spread. A probable post medieval extractive pit (MDO40871) is located 65m to the southwest, suggesting an area of possible gravel extraction. The features may also be post medieval extractive pits, although a natural origin for these is also possible.

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
