Full Description
A banked linear feature in a field on the south side of Dogdean, Wimborne Minster, is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature is located within a large irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose boundaries are probably at least medieval in origin (2). The two feature sub-divides the enclosure on a southwest to northeast alignment and is presumed to be a historic field boundary of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is still faintly visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
