Full Description

A shallow depression in a field to the northwest of Long Lane Farm, Holt, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The feature is 25.4m long by 15.8m wide with shallow sides and a flat base. It may be a shallow extractive pit of post medieval date.

The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery but the feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
