Summary

Dtched linear features in fields on the west side of Cranborne Road, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are considered to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Dtched linear features in fields on the west side of Cranborne Road, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are narrow and rectilinear in fom and sub-divide an irregualr historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose curvilinear boundaries are probably medieval in origin (2). The features are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date.

The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
