Monument record MDO40830 - Possible post medieval field boundaries, Dogdean, Colehill

Ditched linear features in fields to the northwest of Dogdean, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

The features comprise two narrow rectilinear ditches set perpendicular to each other within a historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose boundaries are potentially medieval in origin (2).
The features are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of possible post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible.

The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
