Full Description

An area of ridged cultivation marks to the east of Dogdean Farm, Holt, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are faint but appear to comprise parallel ridges set around 6.5m apart with 2m wide ditches in between. They occupy part of a small historic enclosure present on the OS 1st Edition map. The features suggest possible medieval narrow ridge and furrow.

The features are still within fields on current Google Earth imagery but no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
