Full Description
A series of narrow ditched linear features to the east of Deans Grove, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise long narrow linear ditches offset by a series of shorter ditches at various angles. The features are presumed to be a drainage system of probable post medieval to modern date; the features overlie areas of cultivation marks, probably post medieval narrow ridge and furrow (MDO40803).
The northern part of the site is a sports pitch on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. The south part of the site is still open fields; the features are still faintly visible on 2002 Google Earth imagery. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
