Full Description
Two areas of ridged cultivation marks on the west side of Deans Grove, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise parallel ridges set around 4m apart with 1.6m wide ditches in between. The ridges are regular and straight in form, suggesting possible post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, perhaps the result of later 19th century steam ploughing.
The site is now a tennies court and grounds of Dumpton School on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
