Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit at Colehill is visible on aerial photographs (1).
The feature comprises a 43.5m long by up to 39m wide sub-circular hollow. The feature is presumed to be a post medieval extractive pit; it is shown as a sand pit on the OS 1st Edition map but it has been extended since the late 19th century (2).
The site is under housing and trees on Glynville Close on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
