Summary

A large sub-circular ring-ditch at Canford Bottom, Colehill, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The feature is possibly a Bronze Age barrow. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A large sub-circular ring-ditch at Canford Bottom, Colehill, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The feature comprises a low central mound 19m in diameter encircled by a 1.4m wide ditch. A post medieval trackway crosses the feature from east to west. It is possible that the feature is a Bronze Age barrow.

The feature is still visible on current Google Earth imagery and was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
