Full Description
Ditched linear features at Canford Bottom, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are narrow and variously rectilinear and slightly curvilinear in form. They align with and sub-divide historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose broadly regular boundaries indicate a possible post medieval origin (2). The features are therefore presumed to be historic trackways of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible..
The site is under housing on Canford View Drive on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
