Full Description
An area of cultivation marks to the southwest of Park Homer, Colehill, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise parallel ridges set around 4m apart and interset by 1.8m wide ditches. The features occupy a small irregular historic enclosure present on the OS 1st Edition map and whose boundaries may be medieval in origin. The features are considered to be historic cultivation marks of possible medieval ridge and furrow, although a later origin is possible.
The site is under what is now the south side of Park Homer Drive on current Google Earth imagery. The features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
