Full Description

Two areas of faint cultivation marks to the southeast of Church Moor Copse, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise two irregular areas of parallel ridges set around 3m apart and interset by 1m wide ditches. The features are contained by historic enclosures present on the OS 1st Edition map and whose boundaries are potentially medieval in origin. The visible features do not fully occupy these enclosures but are likely to have done at some point in time. The features are considered to be historic cultivation marks of probable post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, although an earlier origin is possible.

The site is under what is now the south side of Cutler's Place on current Google Earth imagery. The features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
