Summary

Two post medieval gravel pits on the north side of Wimborne Road are visible on 1950s aerial photographs. A roofless building is also visible on the southwest side of the larger of the two pits.The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Two post medieval gravel pits on the north side of Wimborne Road are visible on 1950s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise two irregular scarped hollows 41m by 22.8m and 21m by 13m. A roofless rectangular building 8.7m by 5.3m is also visible on the southwest side of the larger of the two pits.

The site is under trees on current Google Earth imagery and the features are not visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
