Summary

A double ditched linear feature to the southeast of Wimborne Minster is visible on 1940's aerial photographs. The feature is presumed to be a post medieval trackway, possibly associated with former post medieval clay pits (MDO40655 and MDO23476) to the northeast. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A double ditched linear feature to the southeast of Wimborne Minster is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The feature comprises two narrow and parallel ditches, 72m in length and aligned southwest to northeast. It is presumed to be a post medieval trackway, possibly associated with former post medieval clay pits (MDO40655 and MDO23476), located to the northeast.

The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
