Full Description
Areas of parallel ridges and ditches in fields at Wimborne Minster are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise parallel ditched linears around 4m from ridge top to ridgetop with 1m wide ditches. The features occupy part of two historic enclosures present on the OS 1st Edition map and are presumed to be historic cultivation marks; probably post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, although an earlier date is possible.
The site is under what is now part of Badbury View and Courteney Drive on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
