Full Description
A ditched linear feature in a field on the south side of Barrack Road, Jumpers Common, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature comprises a long narrow curvilinear and fairly deeply incised ditch that extends the width of the field, which is a historic enclosure present on the OS 1st Edition map. It is presumed to be a historic field boundary or trackway of possible post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible.
The site is still open ground and the feature is still visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
