Full Description
A ring ditch to the south of Holfleet Cottage,Winkton, is visible as a cropmark on 2006 aerial photographs <2 and 3>.
The ring ditch is around 26m in diameter with an outer 1.8m wide ditch. It is considered most likely that the feature is a funerary barrow of probable Bronze Age origin.
The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
The faint cropmark traces of a single ring ditch, probably the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow visible at approximately SZ 1663 9593 on aerial photographs taken by English Heritage in September 2006. <1>
