Full Description
Ditched and banked linear earthworks at Burton are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1and 2).
The features divide historic enclosures whch are narrow and irregular in character with slightly curving boundaries. These enclosures are present on the Os 1st Edition map and are likely to be medieval in origin, although a later date is possible. The features are considered to be historic field boundaries and may also be medieval and/or post medieval in date.
The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
