Full Description
Banked and ditched linear earthworks on the Avon floodplain to the west of Burton are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1 and 2). Some features are also visible on current Lidar imagery (3).
The features are considered to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. Some features may alternatively be drainage ditches or trackways.
The majority of features remain visible, albeit faintly in some cases, on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
