Summary

A curvilinear banked earthwork on Tenantry Down is visible on current Lidar imagery. The feature may represent a fild boundary or boundary bank of late prehistoric date, although a later origin is also possible. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A curvilinear banked earthwork on Tenantry Down is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).

The feature is 226m long and curves outwards to the east and inwards to the west , where it may be truncated by a post medieval field boundary and trackway. The feature is presumed to represent afield boundary or boundary bank of late prehistoric date, although a later, possibly medieval origin, is also possible.

The feature may be associated with a late prehistoric dyke to the west (MDO5545).

It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
