Full Description
Ditched linear features on Tenantry Down are visible as cropmarks on 1970s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprisesouthwest to northeast aligned curvilinear diches running the length of Tenantry Down. The features are presumed to represent ditched trackways of possible medieval or post medieval origin, although an earlier date is also possible. They run adjacent to another ditched trackway or droveway (MDO40449) of possible prehistoric date and may be contemporary with this but it seems likelier that they are later in origin.
The features are still visible on current Google Earth imagery and were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
