Summary

The potential site of a Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark mound with outer ring ditch on aerial photographs taken in 1976. It lies to the south of Matterley Cottages and is possibly an outlier to the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group although a geomorphological origin for the cropmarks is possible. The feature is 24m across and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

The potential site of a Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark mound with outer ring ditch on aerial photographs taken in 1976 (1). It lies to the south of Matterley Cottages and is possibly an outlier to the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group although a geomorphological origin for the cropmarks is possible. The feature is 24m across and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
