Full Description
SU 0224 0935. An interrupted linear ditch, probably representing a Prehistoric or Roman field boundary, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, and has been mapped by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. The ditch is straight, and about 182m long. A similar parallel possible field boundary appears to the south (SU 00 NW 102). <1>
A linear ditched feature is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs running for 200m in a southwest direction towards the corner of a modern field to the north of Matterley Cottages <1>. It is considered to be a trackway or field boundary of prehistoric or later origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
