Type and Period (1)

Full Description

An oval mound ('B'), 9 ins high (no diameter given) possibly a barrow situated on Bradford Down. <2>

'B' - Low barrow traceable in dense undergrowth. Not measured. <3>

'A' and 'B' both listed as bowl barrows by Grinsell.<4>

SY 649909. Round barrow south of Three-cornered Plantation. Scheduled. <5>

Both these barrows have been completely ploughed out; deleted from M.S.D. <6>

Possible site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The site is showing as a ring ditch, 11m across. This is on the small side for a Bronze Age round barrow and it's location, close to the edge of the field means that a modern agricultural origin (tractor turning mark?) cannot be ruled out. <8>
