Full Description

There is no evidence that this was a British Village and it bears no resemblance to proved village sites in the area. The subsoil is chalk and it may well be old diggings for chalk or flint. Rabbits only throw up the former. There is no rank vegetation in the bottom of the hollows which, nevertheless, is older than the road which
crosses the site - it is embanked. <4>

A series of hollows (some of which have now been ploughed over) which have the appearance of being old chalk pits. Surface finds were limited to a small amount of calcined flint. <5>
