Summary

A ditched linear to the east of Avenue Lodge, St Giles's Park, is visible as a cropmark on 1997 aerial photographs. The feature probably represents a historic trackway of medieval or post medieval date but an earlier origin is possible. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A ditched linear to the east of Avenue Lodge, St Giles's Park, is visible as a cropmark on 1997 aerial photographs (1 and 2).

The feature runs broadly southeast to northwest across a historic enclosure shown on the OS 1st Edition map and appears to overlie features of possible late prehistoric date (MDO40320). The feature probably represents a historic trackway of medieval or post medieval date but an earlier origin is possible.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
