Full Description

Two parallel ditched linears to the east of Avenue Lodge, St Giles's Park, are visible as cropmarks on 1997 aerial photographs (1 and 2).

The features are narrow and rectilinear in form and are aligned broadly southwest to northeast. The features are considered to represent historic field boundaries of probable post medieval origin but an earlier date is also possible. They clearly overlie an underlying late prehistoric or medieval field system (MDO39515).

The features are still faintly visible on a 2002 aerial photograph (3) and were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
