Full Description

A series of ditched linears to the east of Avenue Lodge, St Giles's Park, are visible on 1997 aerial photographs (1 and 2).

The features are aligned broadly southwest to northeast and include one distinct right-angled rectilinear cropmark that may represent part of an agricultural enclosure. The features are considered to represent possible field boundaries of Iron Age or Romano-British origin, although a later, possibly medieval, date is also possible. They may be associated with a wider late prehistoric or medieval field system to the north and east (MDO39515). Some features may alternatively be of natural origin.

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
