Full Description

Ditched linear features to the northeast of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, are visible as cropmark on 1940s and 1990s aerial photographs (1 and 2).

Several ditched linears run south across a historic field from Hill Wood. A further ditched linear runs towards these from the northeast, from a trackway shown on the OS 1st Edition map and also leading south from Hill Wood. This linear corresponds with a ditched linear (MDO40290) on the opposite (east) side of this trackway, which runs on the same alignment. The features are presumed to also represent historic trackways, probably post medieval in date, although an earlier origin is possible.

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
