Summary

A possible Bronze Age barrow to the northwest of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on 1989 aerial photographs. The feature measures 14.9m in diameter. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A rapid examination of air photography suggests the presence of two possible barrows (of Bronze Age date ?), visible as soil marks, in the field immediately North West of Glebe Cottages:-
A - SU 03391241 (recorded as SU 01 SW 85; previously published by RCHME). (Note: This is MDO40275]
B - SU 03441231
Both have indications of possible ditches. <2-3>

A sub-circular cropmark to the northwest of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible on a 1989 aerial photograph. <1>

The feature measures 14.9m in diameter and is presumed to represent a Bronze Age barrow.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
