Summary

The site of a Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark ring ditch on aerial photographs . It lies immediately to the south of the southern henge of Knowlton Circles and is one of the extensive Knowlton Circles Barrow Group. The ring ditch is 15m across, it was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

SU 0242 0982. A Bronze Age round barrow located to the south of Knowlton South henge, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs and has been mapped by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. The barrow is defined by a single circular ditch 13m in diameter. It is part of an extensive barrow cemetery known as the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group (SU 00 NW 2). (1)
