Summary

A series of banked and ditched linears earthworks at Rye Hill are visible on1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to represent historic field boundaries, probably post medieval in origin, although an earlier date is also possible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

A series of banked and ditched linears earthworks at Rye HIll are visible on1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are broadly narrow and rectilinear in form, with some slightly more curvilinear in character. The features are presumed to represent historic field boundaries, probably post medieval in origin, although an earlier date is also possible.

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
