Summary

Two conjoined Bronze Age round barrows, part of the grouping of at least twenty barrows known as the High Lea Farm Group. The double-barrow is visible as crop marks on aerial photographs to the west of The Lodge, Hinton Martell. The northern barrow is 22m across and its southern joined pair, 17m across. A ditch appears to define the outer circuit of the pair. Faint traces of an inner elongated mound was intentified and digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

Two conjoined Bronze Age round barrows, part of the grouping of at least twenty barrows known as the High Lea Farm Group. The double-barrow is visible as crop marks on aerial photographs to the west of The Lodge, Hinton Martell (1-3). The northern barrow is 22m across and its southern joined pair, 17m across. A ditch appears to define the outer circuit of the pair. Faint traces of an inner elongated mound was intentified and digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
