Summary

Undated linear ditches to the east of Matterly Cottages. The features comprise a long linear running NE-SW (360m long) which appears to cut through the southern side of the barrow described in MDO6423. A second ditch runs perpendicularly northwards from the first towards Kings Lane and several short sections of ditch lie at its SW end. The features may be of prehistoric origin, either trackways or boundary features, although a later historic date is possibke. The site was digitally plotted from aerial photographs during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

SU 0235 0916. A linear ditch, probably representing a Prehistoric or Roman field boundary, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, and has been mapped by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. The single straight ditch is about 380m long. <1>
