Full Description
A linear ditch is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taking an irregular course to the southwest of Glebe Farm, Chalbury (1-2). The site is considered likely to be of prehistoric (or Roman) origin and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. At its northern end it appears to abutt a rectilinear enclosure 30m across from which it run southwards for 210m before abruptly turning east. A second enclosure may be incorporated into the corner at this point. The northern enclosure is abutted on its western side by the double-ditched feature described in MDO37321 and this linear may be an extension of it. Fragments of other linears are visible in the vicinity which are probably contemporary.
