Summary

A semi-circular cropmark within the Knowlton Barrow Group is visible on 1970s aerial photographs. The feature may represent a small Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A semi-circular cropmark within the Knowlton Barrow Group is visible on 1970s aerial photographs (1).

The feature measures 10m across and is open on its northeast side (although this could be due to plough damage).

The feature is located on the northeast side of the Great Barrow (MDO6443) and may also be a prehistoric barrow, possibly Bronze Age but a later date is also possible.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
