Summary

A small group of features excavated in 1996 in advance of construction of the A35 Tolpuddle to Puddletown Bypass, and comprising two shallow sub-circular pits and a small circular pit or posthole. The filling of the small pit and one of the larger pits contained Late Bronze Age pottery and worked flint. The filling of the third pit contained Late Bronze Age pottery and worked flint and worked flint of probable Neolithic date. This flint was not worn, suggesting that it is unlikely to be residual material.
