Full Description
A series of parallel ditched linear features are faintly visible as cropmark to the southwest of Knowlton on a 1977 vertical aerial photograph <1>.
The features run southeast to northwest and align with the historic field pattern present on the OS 1st Edition map. The features may be field boundaries of post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. If medieval in date they may represent an area of strip field associated with the deserted medieval village of Knowlton (MDO6412) to the northwest.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
