Summary

A house of 20th-century appearance but thought possibly to be a re-faced earlier building. The building has walls of brick and a thatched roof with brick chimney stack. A door with grille in the front of the building is said to be from the former lock-up.

‘Monuments of the first half of the 19th century in Okeford village include the following: … A cottage immediately W. of (4) has, reset, an old oak Door with a two-centred head that is said to have belonged formerly to the village lock-up.’
