Summary

A series of small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 (and on recent lidar imagery) on Lower Common, Verwood. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. Two are marked as ponds on the OS 1st edition mapping, the other are considered to be ponds or small extractive pits.

Full Description

A series of small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 (and on recent lidar imagery) on Lower Common, Verwood (Royal Air Force 1947; Environment Agency 2015). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. Two are marked as ponds on the OS 1st edition mapping, the other are considered to be ponds or small extractive pits.
