Summary

Faint ditched linears are visible as cropmarks in a field to the northeast of Gussage All Saints on 1995 aerial photographs. The features run perpendicular to each other and may be historic field boundaries of medieval or post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Faint ditched linears are visible as cropmarks in a field to the northeast of Gussage All Saints on 1995 aerial photographs (1 and 2). The features run perpendicular to each other and may be historic field boundaries of medieval or post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. The westernmost linear aligns broadly northeast to southwest and runs parallel to a historic field boundary 100m to the west, which is present on the OS 1st Edition map (3).

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
