Summary

Three near-circular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1946 immediately to the north of Mannington Heath Farm. They are considered to be the sites of Second World War bomb craters and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

Three near-circular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1946 immediately to the north of Mannington Heath Farm (1-2). They are 7m to 14m across and considered to be the sites of Second World War bomb craters. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The features are under plough and have been levelled, the southern of the three is showing as a cropmark in 2014 (2).
